2021 Spring Beaver
The kiddos loved the fall trapline so much I decided to build some drowning rods and get set up for some spring beaver. Have only set 1 creek system so far. Have caught 5 beavers in 4 checks with 4 sets out. Kids are having a ball and it is reigniting my love for trapping. Going to move and add some more traps this week.

Awesome!
I always loved spring beaver trapping more than the fall season, they're really on the move this time of year.

The little man is a sponge. I was remaking a castor mound and came up the bank to find him setting his own "trap". Had the hole dug and guide sticks. Told me to put some lure in the hole.

Re: 2021 Spring Beaver
Good work, I have not had time to do any spring trapping, my focus is now on finding turkeys on public, but I enjoyed the winter trapping and I’m looking forward to next season going to start early in December and pound the public, also want to try and get permission on private.
What’s your heaviest so far? Mine was a 49 pound male.
Are you putting them up yourself or selling in the round?

Re: 2021 Spring Beaver
Have not weighed any yet. Mid to upper 40s female on the biggest so far I'd guess. If I get a real big one I'll weigh it. I'll be putting them up. Drying the castors out also.
Got another 3 weeks of season and ill pry keep after it til its time to switch gears to kill turkeys.

Got the straps and hams saved out of 2. Have had it before and it was good and the kids like eating stuff they've seen killed or butchered so we will cook some up one of these days.
