I feel like I’m pretty good at spotting them but I often wonder how many I’ve been near and didn’t see?

I try not to think about this, because I'm sure I've walked past a ton  There's been quite a few times that I've stopped for a drink, snack, check onx, or whatever, and there is one like 10 feet away that I probably would have walked by otherwise

So what you're telling me is I have to stop and eat more snacks, then I can find sheds.... My problem here is that a lot of the deer leave this area in the winter for better wintering ground. The places that do hold deer get walked a lot by shed hunters.

 I wish it was snack related. I ate all the snacks in Michigan and found about half a shed a year there. Better shed hunting grounds make all the difference. It's a lot easier to find something when its actually there. With that said, snacks are great for the morale, so I'd still recommend more snacks as part of the plan.

I eat a bunch of snacks, mainly deer jerky but never find sheds. I need to get out west and do some shed hunting.

Based on how many old sheds i find in areas I've gone through multiple times, i would say that it's a lot more than i care to admit to.

I wonder if coyotes don’t carry them around some. I found an old one this year in a spot I’d been to multiple times in the past year. Have a hard time believing it had been there the whole time because it was laying on top of the leaves.

The wife goes with me when she can. I will typically go after work and on the weekends but she works later than me so she doesn’t get time to go during the week too often. Anytime I find an old one I tell her I found the one she missed last year. Lol

Found the matching side to the one I found on December 13. Only took 3 minutes into my walk to find it!

Water was ankle deep and then the bottom dropped out. Soaked to my chest, worth it

Found these last Saturday. I had the top buck at 20 yards last September but gave him a pass.

That’s a pretty epic day of shed hunting! Good mass on the top buck, will be interesting to see what he looks like this year. Hopefully you run into him again.
