Earliest shed I've found

Unread postby Elite » Mon Dec 14, 2020 1:36 pm

Found this good 5 point side walking to the trailer blind tonight. I dont recognize this buck so I'm guessing he moved in after rifle season. Pretty cool sequence of pictures!

I had a buck that dropped both sides the first week of December for 3 years in a row. Neat pics.

January 20th is the earliest I’ve ever found a shed.

Earliest shed I’ve ever found was on jan 1. Found both sides about 300yds apart but later found the buck dead so I believe he had health issues

I saw a buck with one side shed a couple weeks ago in WV. Saw a roadkill buck last week both antlers popped right off when I touched them. Seems like some are shedding early this year
Some do. Some don't. I just might...

Deer will shed early sometimes due to stress. It hasn’t been very cold as of yet this year by me so don’t think they would be stressed from weather. I had a guy at work tell me because it was warm during the rut that put extra stress on them causing early shedding. Not sure if I buy that but who knows??

Leaving Sunday for a late season archery hunt in OHIO. I'll be real bummed if the bucks are all does. It however will be a fitting end to my toughest year in a while.
