Found Some Sheds

Found these sheds today where the buck was exiting his bedding area from a hardwoods. They were together. We also have both his sheds from last year which were also together. One of the sheds had a bloody base and i find it odd that they both fell off in the same spot two years in a row, so im guessing he somehow gets the second one off himself. kinda interesting...

What a great find. If he makes it thru next year, you'll probably find his sheds in the same place together again. Then he'll be ready for you to take the following year!!!!!

Nice...
One of my best bucks, before I killed him, I found all his sheds except one side when he was 1 1/2 and one side when he was 2 1/2. I shot him at 5 1/2. All the sheds I found of his were within 100 yards of each other over a span of a few years, but in the same area.

i find it odd that they both fell off in the same spot two years in a row, so im guessing he somehow gets the second one off himself. kinda interesting...

I think they feel funny with just one antler, kind of off balance... I notice a behavior a few different times now where the buck will actually stick his last antler into the mud and try to pop it off. I have found several sheds with muddy points laying where there are antler marks in the mud.
One time me and my buddy Jamie were out looking for sheds and on the next hillside we could see a spot where the snow had been scratched out and I said, wouldn't doubt it if there was an antler there... And sure enough.

I also think that it has something to with the bucks personality. Because i found a shed from a 4.5 year old this year. It was in his bed. It was a very very heavy shed so you think he would have felt very lopsided....and being in his bed he was pry putsing around so you would think he would have tried to pop it off. So he must just not care as much as this one that has them both come off at the same time. But maybe its under the snow...ill see i guess

Mmmmmm.. . .

Good friend stumbled upon the deer he had a run in with at 50 yards - passed on the long shot. Deer lived through gun, and he'll be hunted hard this coming season. Expect to go 160" or better this new year.

Been a solid year for my buddies, and just started getting good for me since I just got out for the 2nd time this year and found a good one. That picture is soon to come.

Here's a biggie a good friend found last week from SE Wisco.
