Labelling Your Sheds...

Here’s my idea for those that don’t want to write on your sheds but want to record details: copper trap tags and a metal stamp kit!

I think they are a little classier than a hand written paper tag…

I mark mine with a magic marker. Takes about 3 seconds per antler. I give most of mine away anyway, but I do keep some if I have killed the buck they are from.

You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Those are good ideas. I label my jaw bones I save with a marker like Stan, don't know why I don't label sheds!

I do take a pic of all the sheds I find in one year together so I can refer back to what year was what...but labeling them makes sense. Most get given away or turned into knife handles or ornaments by my brother.

I've been writing on mine for years but I've found that the ink fades and I don't really like the way it looks. I appreciate the antlers the way they are when I find them and I display them as such. Everyone hunts sheds for different reasons just the same as reasons for hunting deer though.

I just have a photo of every find and ensure there is some meta data with the photo. I don't have as many sheds as most here but I can still remember where I found a shed when I randomly grab one.
