Only two weekends left in the northern section and it's only panfishing after that.
We've been on a pretty good bite and the males have started moving to spawning grounds just this last weekend. Kept a 26" male which is pretty good size for a northern WI lake.
Females usually a week or two behind but we need some warm weather to speed the process up.
Any one else been fishing them?
Hear around Madison last week it was on fire for big pike......know some guys with multiple 30" plus fish and (2) over 40".

Be careful out there on the ice especially with the heavy snow we just had. Last weekend 17 vehicles went in Lake Winnebago and many more on other smaller area lakes.
No fish is worth your life and if I do go it will be on foot only.

Plenty of ice in the Rhinelander area.....was zero snow on the ice Sunday afternoon and the last report I have was only about 3" of snow fell Monday.
Lakes should be 100% fine for quite a while yet.......trucks will be driving all over the place this weekend. We take the wheeler out for mobility and ease of set-up which only increases the safty factor.
Bet I'll still be walking out in mid April.
