Always call the resorts before going out.
We experienced 9 to 14 inches of ice. Fishing was great shallow water in the mornings. Alot of walleyes on set lines and jigging baits. I would say setting up about 15 to 18 feet water before first light. Pink and gold colors worked well. Water was clear. As late morning and afternoon progresses head out to deeper water like 24 ft of water to keep fishing action up. We caught a lot of saugers in this depth. Then as the sun starts to set about 3pm head back to the shallow break to catch the evening bite.
We caught are allowed limits w a couple slot fish.
Due to the windy fall the ice is choppy so use the resort roads to be safe. And always call and check in with the resorts before heading out.
