Never heard of anyone even trying this because of the crows and there great eye sight but that would be something else especailly if you could get it on film! Let us know what you decide Chris sounds like it would be awesome!

Chris, I believe you can kill crows with a bow, and it would make some GREAT footage. However, I don't think your thinking the right method... When crows come to carcasses they come very leery and really check things out. They also generally come in groups of two or more and each has a group role of watching the others back. Getting an arrow past that would be tough... BUT... I bet you could call them in and shoot them over decoys. A guy sent me some footage of all crow hunting last year ( they used guns ) they had crow decoys and an owl decoy and the crows got really close in the frenzy. You might have to shoot them in the air, but I think you could do it, and it might be a 1st on film.

That was my next idea to use dekes. Was thinking of using a bale blind for the job as i know how tough it is to get drawn on a crow especially if I'm trying to get it on video at the same time.

I have gone crow hunting a few times. I use an electronic call and they come in right away but they generally circle the call high out of range for a while untill they eventually lose interest. I have never used them but I would definately put out decoys, I think that would help close the distance. Especially if your gonna do it with a bow. That would be sick! 8-)

I haven't hunted crow since I was a kid - sure was a blast though :D I would think you could get one bowshot off at a crow on a bait. Sounds fun.

I ve hunted them a few times, I use my foxpro electronic caller. They come in pretty easy... Getting a kill shot is another story. I also have used dekes. Years back, when I was getting started in taxidermy, I would shoot a few to practice on.

Crows have been going nuts around here in the am lately. My neighbor said they are raiding all the birds nests???

Had three in the yard earlier and went for the crossbow. By the time I slithered to the edge of the garage they were gone. They are cagey.

Crow hunting is a blast. It's hard to get them with a shotgun, never mind a bow. When you call them, they usually always circle in the air. They won't land. Here in NY there's a season for them too. Good luck arrowing one.

Yeupp, it would be... In a literal sense. I've shot my share of crows but I won't touch them. Nasty looking things IMO.

If you wing a crow so he's on the ground moving around the other's go nutz and come right in. Maybe you could hook a string to a black rag and move it as to duplicate this??? Might be worth a try.

Or I know a guy that can leg trap PIGS with a rope.......perhaps he could lasso me a crow and then stake it down for a deke!

Good idea on the rag AC, could use it like they do for geese.
