Stalked by a bobcat

Unread postby ZSV » Fri May 10, 2019 3:08 pm

My wife was out turkey hunting a couple days ago. She didn’t call in any turkeys, but she did call in this guy (or gal).

For the longest time I was thinking, where is the cat? He was so slow and smooth that it looked like a bush... that eventually kept getting closer and closer. :D A master class in how to stalk from a pro.

She's brave, letting it get that close! What a cool experience to have. 8-)

My wife said the same about how slow and smooth it was. She said it was hard to tell it was getting closer at first.

Sorry about the quality of the video. It’s the first time I’ve uploaded one and I’m not sure what I did wrong because the quality on the post is worse than the video on my phone.

I see them while deer hunting a bit and truly enjoy watching them. A special treat there.

Most guys would just shoot em, I'd probably try to touch it...

"Hey Rich, why are you missing the fingers on your right hand?"

How'd you know? LOL!

Been fortunate enough to see the young ones following momma and jumping on each other, etc. They can disappear just by flattening themselves against the ground, sometimes just sit in the shooting lanes and watch for something. Most I see seem to be "small".

Just made me think of the time a rabbit and a yearling deer touched noses - looked like it was right out of bambi. Yeah - that's a fun area to hunt.
