Bluegills

Unread postby Sailfish_WC » Sun May 17, 2020 4:29 am

I’m going to be fishing a very large lake in June
It’s LOADED with hydrilla
In fact I don’t think I’ve ever seen the bottom or sand.
I’m wondering what tips/techniques y’all can recommend for that type of fishing.
It will be hot, essentially summer panfish fishing.

Bobber, split shot, and night crawler is how I always caught them. I’m not an expert I just got back into fishing last year. I caught a bunch of panfish last summer

Just added 300 hybrid bluegills to the wetlands today. While we were waiting for the bags of fish to equilibrate temp, tossed some jigs. My go to jig is yellow lead head, red body, yellow skirt. Catch both bass and bluegill using it.
