Just got back. We took a beating this morning. Seas were probably 8-10 on the way out this morning. It took about 2 hours to run out. It was late morning by the time we had our first hookup. We ended up with 6 dolphin, an albacore, a black fin and one yellowfin. Tomorrow they're calling for south winds which should make it much better. The wind laid down some this afternoon and that's when all the boats started catching yellowfins. We had another yellowfin and another dolphin on that we lost.

Should have been here yesterday! Story of my life! Tomorrow will be better.

Dolphin/dorado/mahi mahi must all be one in the same lol

Hopefully you slay 'em tomorrow! Were you guys trolling or how did you catch them?

Dad and I caught a bunch of halibut up in Alaska when we visited my aunt in '99. Man it was fun! Biggest was 118# and two were 60 some. Fished in 245' of water with 4lb sinker. Caught the big one on a 18" salmon that had been fileted.

Yes, dolphin Mahdi magi same thing. All trolling. The tuna are a little hard to come by right now. The bite is in the afternoon and the dolphin are more abundant so that's what the captains are targeting primarily. We could have probably stayed on the dolphin but we wanted tuna so as soon as our captain heard somebody come on the radio saying they gaffes a tuna, we headed that way.

It was way rougher than I wanted to fish in this morning but we weren't about to sit at the house as long as the captain thought it was doable, so we went. On Saturday they had a limit of dolphin and were back at the marina by 12:30.

Day two was slow 6 more dolphin, no tuna. No good reports from anybody in the fleet. We're booking a couple weeks later for next year to try and time it a little better. Still had a blast!
