On my annual hunt to Nebraska and South Dakota, I rent a cabin with three of my friends. Last year when I went to Ohio, I stayed at a friends house.I"ve also stayed at old farmhouses, and even a converted church once. Since scent is a big issue for me, I would need some sort of shower, and being able to wash my hunting clothes is important to me too. Not saying you couldn't kill a deer without showers and washing machines, I just feel if I didn't have them I would stink too much. And for those who say "hunt the wind" I do. But I've seen those milkweed pods blow scent many different directions through the coarse of an all day sit. The thermals change when it warms up or cools down, and any kind of front can move through, changing the winds. So I prefer to be clean as I can, to hopefully up my odds while I'm trying to kill bucks.
A buck will see you three times, and hear you twice, but he's only gonna smell you once.
