Re: Do you guys get nervous?
now granted I have never shot anything huge (outside of a 600lb elk with 5 pts a side), but I have never shaken at the shot (that I am aware of). I go in the zone and thank goodness it (the subconscience predator) takes over.

I get a little gittery if I have to watch em for long.
But when its time to move I am rock solid, I think.

Yes, I get nervous as sometimes. Most often it's very controllable, but on occasion, it's bad maybe feverish. It has cost me a few, and a few more long trails, but I imagine if that goes a way so will the hunger. Fun.

Yeah I do. I think it's one of the area's I need to improve on as a bow hunter. I'm getting better though. To bad it's cost me a couple nice ones. I make awesome shots on does though!

Good point... Nervous or not, when a buck we really want comes in, I think a lot of us rush the shot worrying about him getting away. 1st half way good shot and an arrow gets loosed.
Does on the other hand, most guys with a ton of them under there belt don't really care to much if it gets away, so they wait patiently till the perfect opportunity presents itself...
Not saying its right, just thinking if we are honest, this probably happens more than we would like to admit.
At least by understanding that this is going on, we can work on correcting it.
I will probably get some crap for this, and maybe I deserve it, but I have lost a much higher percentage of the bucks I shoot at, than the does.

Like zap said! If I have watch and wait for awhile the anticipation builds, but if it happens at a steady pace I don't get as nervous, alittle heavy breathing after the shot. It's only human. The adrenaline is great. without that, half the fun is gone

My heart rate definitely speeds up.Especially so when I don't have much cover and don't feel like I can move with out being picked off.The other things that contribute to my nervousness are if I am cold, cold and excited gets me shaking more than any other time.I purposely over dress some times so I wont shiver. If I am warm and concealed I am much calmer.Makes auto pilot a lot easier.

Yeah If a deer holds up or takes a long time to get in range I get nervous! If they come in on a string I can hold it together and focus on the vitals. After I release the arrow though I turn to mush
