great shining trip last night!

Unread postby 76chevy » Fri Jul 29, 2011 12:30 am

Went shining last night around home.

I saw about 40 deer overall, including a nice group of bucks bedded about 50 yards off the road in an alfalfa field

One is a nice 3.5 year old, 10 or 12 pointer

here is a pic of him last summer as a 2.5 year old 10 pointer

they are bedding in one of a few spots they did last year, found more bedding this winter and spring during my scouting trips when snow was on the ground

they are then moving into the alfalfa and soybean fields at night to feed...going to stay out of there until the season opener

My plan is to check the field with a spot light and come in from the backdoor and hunt the bedding area when they are using it.
