Some are 2 minutes of walking, some 60+ minutes.

I have some stands that are a couple of miles through swamp... takes a lot of time and sweat, but at least i rarely have to deal with others there. I also have some overlooked spots close to relatively easy access on public land, love it when that happens.

Most of mine are about 3/4 mile . And a few are 200 yards or so from the road.

Most of the time my longest walks take an hour or so if I need to slow down because of the heat but most of my time is spent going super slow and quiet over that last 100 to 200 yards as I close in on a bedding area. I might be a little too careful because it does seem to take forever as I slowly creep up to my setup but I would rather be safe then sorry. I have to bump deer to get into a lot of these places so the slower the better.

Over two hours to your stand??? :o That's pretty hardcore right there!

It's wouldn't be a two hour walk if I wasn't worried about being silent, but I really slow it down and take my time those last 100 to 200 yards before my setup, it can sometimes take an hour to cover that distance. Like I said I am probably too careful but better to be careful then bust the buck out of his bed on the way in.

My public land spots are anywhere from 1/2 mile to 1 & 1/2 miles. Most are around a mile. Area has a ton of deer after the first couple of weeks and the deer seem to push back in this area.

2 miles back is my farthest spot. That is linear distance. It takes longer to walk it in the right way. I still run into a couple "beasts" back there. I have several spots in the 1.5 mile range. Even more in the 1 mile range. Unfortunately, all these great spots can only be hunted during the weekends as driving + walking can easily add 4+ hours to the "hunt"

Great bucks back there though. . . :D

I have a few spots that are way back in, but for the most part I look for areas that are just a to get to but aren't too far back in. My favorite spot requires hip boots because I need to cross a small river, then I have to climb about 200 yards directly uphill through a fairly thick woods. There is a small opening up there with 2 apple trees that are loaded this year! A South wind is excellent for that spot since the bucks like to bed on a small knoll about 1/4 mile due South! They usually get to the apples before dark and I'm there waiting in a big oak tree at the edge of the ridge above the river, about ten yards away from the bigger apple tree.

The farthest I've walked with a treestand is 1.75 miles. Not bad in the morning when you are all fired up for a rut hunt. Kind of a bummer to hike out after an all day sit.

I have a few spots that are right off of main roads and some that are closer to 1.5 miles through thick stuff.
