Hodag Hunter wrote:Really nice looking buck poles.

Really impressed with Tad's pictures of great northwoods deer. Heck of a job by his gang.

Thanks Hodag....it's a good group, every year is a new adventure.

We all really enjoy the northwoods, just a different style of hunt from ag land.
Just doesn't seem right if we don't have atleast 10 sq/mi to cover ground and hunt.

what a great offseason thread. Great pics guys

Here is the buck pole at Huron View Tree Farm, Black River, MI - 2009. I was just looking for some other pics of that pole. This is the only one I found.

Here is Patrick the Killer in 09, I sat with my buddies son the last two years on rifle opener. This was his first year, I watched him kill 2 bucks that day (the 2 head up). The first and biggest, him and I stalked to within 20 yds of the buck with a doe. I shot the doe in her bed and when the buck jumped up he took it. It was such an unreal experience to share with a young hunter.

Here is the scene, Patrick is standing at his buck.

That's just a great post Uncle Lou....congrats to the young hunter (Killer)
Nothing better than sharing those experiences, way to pay it forward.

Went with a young man and his dad this last season here in MI, spent the day with them. Ryan is 13, and was the hunter, he took a buck and a doe that day.And was one happy young man, his dad had the camera and this is the only picture he sent to me.

Great pics guys! I love Buck Pole pictures. Unfortunately our hunts are broke into weekend hunts here and there so we only have two deer hanging at most. We usually quarter them up within a say or two as well. This year we have 4 of us hunting 5 days of bow season together and then 3 days of gun season together, hope to have a buck pole for those this year!

Never took any pics of our buck pole up north especially since the past 3-4 seasons have been pretty lean years. Down at home my buck pole consists of hanging in my garage or the back of my truck until butchering time. Don't have a whole lot of pics except for these bucks.

This is the only buck pole pic I have ever taken from where I hunt. Guess I need to take more.

nice NE Michigan buck pole. Ever been into Lincoln for the Alcona county buck pole. I was there a couple years ago on a Friday night. Couldn't believe some of the bucks.

A buck will see you three times, and hear you twice, but he's only gonna smell you once.
