A few feet away I noticed a new rub. As I moved around the bog and viewed the new rub with old bed in the background, on the backside of the stump was the remains of the buck!
The more I think about it, this buck bed location is way too good for a year and a half year old buck. I feel that he probably was gut shot and went to the safest bed in the swamp, having more problems to deal with then having his tail kicked by a mature slob.
Discuss the science of figuring out our prey through good detective work.
