MO turkey? NOT!

Unread postby Arrowbender » Tue Apr 26, 2011 2:19 pm

Well I got skunked in MO. Not for lack of opportunity but for stubborness to shoot a jake. Had the shotgun and didn't want to spank a youngin so I filmed. Here's a little footage with the new vid. cam.

Your big brother killed one the other morning. Maybe you should have went with him to film instead of driving all the way to MO.

Lou,
Yea it sure would have been cheaper!
We had a good hunt. Opportunity is why we go. And the plan was to do some more filming but the birds didn't cooperate.

Greg,
I had the tripod laying on the ground behind me. It was just seemed too enormous and obtrusive to set up on the fence line next to me. I think the big boys were already a little cagey without it set up.
But yea, it's a little shakey, I wanted to test that image stabilization they brag about. ;o

I have a bunch more but would like to get it pared down to just the good stuff instead of posting everything. Still learning!

That is a little more shakey than I thought.

Are those not the biggest freakin' Jakes you have ever seen? They have more adult feathers than baby feathers.
I really like the 'Bookend Pose". They honestly looked bigger than the longbeards that were in the field. Should be some tanks next season if they make it.
