What a great story and pics to go with it that show what letting them grow can do for those that are willing to be patient. Sorry you didn't get him with all that history and all. Kudos for not taking the close but bad shots!!!!!

Just goes to show what a difference a year can make. They also get so darn hard to kill once they hit that 4.5 year old stage.

I'm confused..you said he didn't make Boone & Crockett, but officially scored 182"?

I think that deer would score non-typ, which I believe has a higher qualification - 185" minimum.

Nice story. It appears that he was not camera shy. That being said I wonder if he was on to your activity in the area with checking the camera and so on.
