Some of the best leaning opportunities come from seeing Mario go out of his way to use the corn for access, wind to nose, and have his ground scent trail in line with the wind so deer can only smell him in on e spot, the he could shoot to, and avoiding being heard or seen along the corridor... Sounds simple, but so many people skip the little extras that generally cause the success . Another big take back is his kill set up. He set up at the entrance to his hunting area along the walking trail. A place deer have become accustomed to human scent, and people have over looked....

There are so many cool examples in this video to take away from. Great video and great discussion and explanations of what’s going on and how you’re approaching it. Awesome job and congrats on a great buck!

Aside from the previously mentioned lessons, I think another good takeaway was sitting tight even though another hunter walked in / past. I have to admit I would have had diminished confidence after that.

Good job breaking down the details of why you did what you did in each hunt. I liked the lesson learned in the first hunt from walking down the edge and getting busted and how you adapted. Congratulations on a good buck

Nice job, congrats and welcome back. It's tough to pull that off from the ground. Enjoyed the hunts.

This video is very relevant. We hunt a lot of heavily used and pressures small land around here. We find more and more these deer are much less effected and much more tolerant of "pressure" than what you would think.

Our gun season is just a week over and my buddy got a daylight pic of a very nice buck who was living on a local piece of public that just plain gets hammered. He hung the cam at about 10am and had the pic at 5

very refreshing to see a beast hunting in what i would consider realistic for me. No waders, boats, mile walks, or muck up to your eyeballs.. yet great results. I think half the time this get away from pressure stuff is just a way to save the easier to access and still productive stuff for the promoters. Sly, very sly.

Mario spoke of hunting off the ground because it got real thick above heaf level because of the bushy buckthorn trees. It looks open at ground level, but if you watch close, it really appears that the spot where Mario shot the buck, was the only shot he had in that little tight window... At least it appeared that way looking thru the camera.

Congrats Mario, there’s nothing better than taking a buck you are eye to eye with. The selection and approach to your spot, the filming and recovery were great !!
