Good stuff man! Congrats, great buck.

My recommendation, do a euro mount. Basically free and can have him hanging in a couple of days. Can always skull cap him later if you really want a plaque. Also, if it's still an option, save the cape. Could always go back and mount him then!

You must have one hefty kayak!

That's a good buck Johnny

Enjoyed the story....I bet I know where you'll be sitting next year at this time.

You have a lot of big bucks in your future.

You need to train the woman now so she knows when you kill early you are going out of state ;)

Now you need to tell the little woman since your WI buck tag is filled you now need to hunt another state. ;)

She even asked me if I was done hunting for the year since I got a buck

Out of state would be fun but I’ve burned up more vacation than I actually get. Already used 2 weeks and have a third scheduled for gun hunting. Next year I’ll have all my vacation to use during hunting, so out of state would be feasible. Definitely going to start planning out of state hunts for when this happens again at some point.

Still got a couple doe tags that I might use one of. But can use it as an excuse to keep hunting and scouting for next year. Barely skimming the surface of 2-3 properties up here that all can hold good bucks so no better time than the present to start scouting them.

Personally I’ve never been a fan of euro mounts. Not sure why but just not my thing. I’m sure I’ll regret not shoulder mounting it but a plaque in the camper with a picture or two below it will be pretty cool.

My kayak has a 550lb weight capacity. Works great in the summer for fishing, and now I know it works great for deer.
