Hi everyone, a heavily hunted state land spot I hunt has a roughly 800 ft elevated drop that’s very steep. The top of the ridge and beyond is all open oaks and the bottom has a 20 yard open wet area followed but cattail swamp as far as the eye can see.
99 percent of the hunters either sit the trails coming from the swamp in the oaks. I keep hearing everyone say hunt the transition but that’s what everyone else is doing. In this case would the mature deer sit deeper and I should have to slide in further than the rest ?
The mature deer sign is there already.. just not sure how far I have to push beyond the crowd.
