Is that a arrow hole?
Or fungus ?

No idea. Pics from 2 weeks ago show a large bump and now it's getting gross. Hopefully he doesn't die from infection before I can put one of the kids on him.

Quick recheck from last year's pics... whatever it is he's been with it for awhile. Looking at his body I'm guessing it's a non issue? Hope to cut into the wound and find a busted up Rage.

I was pretty sure you shoot single bevels, but I didn’t know if there was a reason you went to them. Like sticking a flapper in a shoulder blade of that trophy buck. ;)

I’m super excited for my first sit of 2020. All the work of bear hunting is real, but the payoff is priceless. Good luck to all afield tonight.

Day 4. Was feeling good about this spot, now I have what sounds like a dove hunter on the next property over. Hopefully it's far enough away.

I’m chomping at the bit to join in on this thread. Last night I shined a big buck in the field adjacent to the bedding I killed my buck out of last year. :L: hopefully he sticks around!

Let the chess match begin.

Opening morning of Montana archery Elk and Deer Season. I went glassing for elk last night and listening for bugles. That was a bust. Did end up seeing a good sized forest fire.

Headed out this morning glassing for muleys. Found a couple on public, but not quite big enough to try and take on the first day. It doesn't show up in the pic, but the one buck had a bunch of velvet hanging off his rack, which was pretty cool.

I went scouting with my bow in hand yesterday afternoon and snuck in on a doe and watched her bed down.
With it being 80 out there was more fresh sigh along the waters edges than up on the higher ground.
