Had my second encounter with my target buck. He came out behind 6 does and stood at the edge of the clear cut while the does worked 50 yards in front of me. He stood there for 10 minutes checking things out before taking a different trail the does took. I have to make a plan for my last sit.

That is pretty exciting Elite! Good luck!

Well my MN deer season is officially over.

On the bright side, my deer hunting has gotten better for 5 consecutive years. I’m learning more every year, and I’m excited to see what 2021 brings!

Happy New Year everyone!

Back in my old stomping grounds today. Still trying to get my swamp legs back.. I did some scouting and still hunting yesterday and it’s obvious the deer population is stil hurting here. It’s a shame because I love to hunt this place.

I snuck down a small ridge that tapers into a willow bottom that they like to bed in. Got some descent sign and a good trail heading towards the end of the point. It’s prerut so there’s a chance even if a buck doesn’t come back late to bed there one could come sniffing around looking for a lady.

Gonna be a spike or better day today  and I’ve got my 7 mag so they will be in trouble.

Mosquitoes made it all the way to December 31 last year and as I type this on Jan 1 one is flying around my screen.

Good luck JakeB!

Strange how just one state away everything looks like dead of winter, rut left us in early December. Totally different habitat down there for sure.

All out leaves left us early December. Flooded at farm and at Public land I hunt. I am sitting at house. May go down tomorrow if water level drops out at farm.

Good luck folks!

I'm wishing I was in the woods, but I'm Da UP with my daughter's ski racing.

Beautiful and a little chilly. The opposite of Jake B temp wise

Those are in no way runts but this late in the season id rather eat the tag and chase those guys next year. We got runts just like everyone else. Theyre getting smaller instead of bigger this late season.
