Congrats to the guys that killed.

I completely screwed myself last night. Went into an area that was calling for a "bad wind" but it was supposed to be super light, so I figured the thermals would pull in the right directions for me. Yeah, it didn't work out that way lol. Had multiple deer end up blowing at me, but at least I learned something about that spot.

Was going to take the big girl out tonight, but she had other plans. Was just getting up to the tree I was going to hang in and there was a guy in Camo standing there with a stand on his back. So I opted for plan b

Anyone else having winds doing anything but the west/NW that all 3 of my weather apps called for?

Fat chick. Sign was old. Probably a little early for when this heats up with rubs.

Looking forward to pics Dan!

I left work an hour early today to scout.

Brand new spot and it looked...ok. Definite possibilities but nothing special. No rubs from this year and no scrapes. Very few old rubs. Would loooove to let a cam soak here but can’t. :snooty:

There’s a nice little opening in the slew right next to the bedding and I’m wondering if the duck hunters had the deer pushed out?? not much for fresh tracks. Didn’t bump anything that I’m aware of. I did find a decent rut set and some nice beds though. There’s a patch of grass in the middle of some NASTY thick buckthorn. Bedding magnet!

Last pic is the thinnest the buckthorn got.

Will add the info to my journal and file away the info! If I ever hear of a big one in the area I at least have something to go on. Plus I pinned this spot this spring and was dying to see what I was missing. Always have fun checking out new ground!
