So I was able to ask Dan the other day on a Q & A session on The Vitals Live about a DIY hunt that I want to go on in a couple of years out of state and he suggested posting my questions here. So here goes nothing...
This will be my first out of state hunt for whitetails and I am having some of my family members join. My plan is go to Nebraska so we can buy a non resident over the counter tag. My family members are more fair-weather hunters so I can't imagine getting them to purchase points to hunt a draw state. Anyway, this is where things get a little difficult.... the only way that I can get my dad to join us is if we can do some waterfowl hunting too. He isn't into deer hunting but loves waterfowl (I know, I know, I'm working on that

). So I'm looking for a part of the state to start looking into places that we can camp for a week, hunt white tails, and hunt some waterfowl all on public land. I'm not looking for anybody's spot but maybe some direction on what part of the state to even start looking and I'm wondering if this is even possible. If you would rather communicate privately, you can PM me or I'm on the Hunting Beast Facebook group and my name is Benjamin Murray.
Thank you for any help or direction that you can offer!
