I was out scouting a couple days ago and kicked up a really big buck. He was a ways off, but I swear he looked full-grown and he looked like he was already in hard antler.. Freakishly tall unique buck. Strangest thing.

All of the above, multiple times a week, year round for me. I may ramp it up a bit more at certain times of the year, but I'm always doing it. It requires more and more of it every year out here than in years prior.

Cams are almost all set in the elk woods. One more weekend to get some out into a third area then it will be whitetail time

Cameras are out taking inventory. I’ll check them all once before the season opener. I added three new areas to my list that I’m excited about from spring scouting. Our openers just a little over three months away.

There are more guys out running cameras. A lot of guys are running cameras year round as well. Cameras lead to pictures of deer and/or the killing of that deer and/or hunting pressure on the herd. The older bucks' responses to those things complicate the whole process. Property boundaries are restrictive, you can't go where you don't have permission and you can't kill what's not there.
There are more guys out hunting as well. Ground is getting harder and harder to come by, and you're almost never hunting it alone.
Hunting has evolved due to technology and the availability of information. There are less mature bucks here now, less secrets, and the biggest deer don't go unnoticed.

Driving down to OH to scout for 4 days next weekend. Will start running cameras over mock scrapes around home when I get back.

Been out as much as I can with a few month old at home hanging cams, trying to locate some public bucks from last year, hung some observation stands on private, and pounding new ground... it’s getting hot and humid lately tho!
