Arkansas AHH HA moment
Been following the beast and trying tactics for a little while. It’s been difficult for me to use tactics in these south Arkansas pine thickets. I would search and search for beds but wasn’t sure exactly what they would look like. My recent turkey hunt turned into a bed hunt while no turkeys were gobbling. I was scouting an edge where a hay field turns into mixed woods with mostly pine. I stumbled on this bed under a locust tree. The rubs on the branch gave me my first clue and when I laid in the bed like the buck would I saw what he would see. Makes perfect sense. On a south wind he can smell everything approaching behind and look out into this field a good long way and see any danger. I now have to get a game plan to hunt deer that are using this particular bedding area.
