Glassing deer
After hearing and seeing alot of people on here glassing i have a question. I see tons of does when im driving to work in grey light in the morning and home in the evening. Ive never thought about it much but i never see any bucks. Is mainly because they dont come out during grey light hours or are there just no bucks around? I cant use a spotlight so how would i be able to glass them after grey light if they come out later?

Re: Glassing deer
A lot of the time older bucks are more likely to be more cautious than other deer.
Sometimes I can use the binoculars or spotting scope to gather a little extra light and I see them in the same fields as the other deer just a little later in the evening.
Sometimes I glass thicker areas close to the food source and find them there.
Lots of times the older bucks are feeding in different areas than the other deer so just because you see deer somewhere doesn’t mean you will find a mature buck there.
Certain timeframes and weather conditions can have a big impact on what comes out before dark.
Some guys will tell you the moon phase and position play a role as well.
When you’re glassing slow down, really look and pick things apart.

Re: Glassing deer
One reason you see mostly does is because most areas have an unbalanced doe to buck ratio with a heavy population of does. If you spend enough time you will eventually see the bucks in the area. They won’t be out in daylight every day
