First wolf hunt

Heading out this weekend to try and get a wolf. Odds are SUPER low, but I can't shoot them from the couch. It's also grizzly/lion country, so it should be an exciting adventure

Don't forget to take along lots of extra ammo and a shovel. (They run in packs.)

Grizzlies, mountain lions, and wolves? Throw hunters in the mix and that’s a stressful life for those deer.

Well the grizz's should be hibernating. Cats will be near the larger deer herds. Good luck!!!

Yea, I'm not a bear expert, but it's been an extremely mild winter...50 degrees for the last week or so. I'm not sure of the bears ever went to sleep.

Yeah that's a little warm. But it's usually colder and more snow up higher where they're usually at. If they do wander around abit. It's real close to their den. And because they form an anal plug for hibernating. They don't really eat and are pretty sluggish.

You'll find even normal winter temps are probably milder than where you were in MI. Mid 30's where common for highs in Helena. Worked a few times through the winter in Billings and it was similar.

Grizz are up and about. Several seen between body/red lodge and over near Bozeman. It's been super mild across the state. Most rivers are still fishable with little ice ledges to compete with.

Wolves have seem to be hitting the dirt over the past 2 weeks. Bring your shooting sticks. :lol:

Good luck seas. I had a wolf tag in Idaho in 2012 and saw lots of tracks, but no actual wolf. I also was one of 100 that got a Michigan wolf tag in 2013. I actually saw one, wish I had that opportunity over. Would love to see you get one. Good luck
