You can shoot anytime
Sorry, but thats not true... There is a rough fish spearing / arrow rule book and it lists seasons and open waters. There are only a few places in Wisconsin that allow year round shooting.

wow huge buzzkill! just got everything set up to head out in SE WI thursday...I have been reading reports of guys shooting some on the rock I was going to check out some of the smaller streams I have speared/shot the last few years as they are probably warmer than most other bodies of water this time of year.
