Reading material: Come November......

Unread postby seuss79 » Thu Jan 16, 2020 1:13 am

I'm not affiliated with him, just trying to share what I found if others are looking for this. Dan and moderators, I'm sorry and please delete if not allowed.

I've been looking for additional reading material. Searching THB forums it seems like "Come November" is a decent read. The only downside is being unavailable except for crazy prices on eBay.

Just letting you all know if interested, it's available again from Gene Wensel's brothersofthebow website for 24.99.

Agree - I have all their books & videos and lots of useful info there. Gene and Barry are good people to boot.

One of my favorites. Read it every off season.

Not to hijack - but another really good book is the new one about Paul Schafer (Silver tip bows) by Robert Windauer - not a tactics book per se but very fascinating look at a great hunter and bow builder.

I picked up Come November a couple months ago but haven't read yet.

A few others I have:
North American Whitetail Bowhunting Trophy Whitetails Book - Bobby Worthington
Mapping Trophy Bucks - Herndon, Brad
Taking Trophy Whitetails - Fratzke, Bob
Whitetail Magic - ROGER ROTHHAAR
In Pursuit of Trophy Whitetails - Roger Rothhaar
Come November - Gene Wensel
One Upon a Tine - Barry Wensel
Hunting Trophy Whitetails in the Real World - Don Higgins
Real World Whitetail Icons … in Their Own Words - Don Higgins

I would like to get some Benoit books

I’ve got most of the books listed above. Another good one is Fred Bears field notes. He wrote a diary after all his hunts and put them in a book. Good read. He was the meat eater and the THP guys long before they were thought of

I picked up "Big Bucks the Benoit Way" at my local library and I am really enjoying it! They specialize mostly in tracking deer in giant public pieces in the Northeast, but there is a lot of good tips around identifying deer by looking at their tracks and other scouting tactics like this. I have not read the whole thing yet but its an easy read with lots of pictures.
