First bow buck and biggest buck
This year I planned ahead and took 2 weeks off the first of November. With how my schedule works I was off 10-31 thru 11-20. I had babysitting planned for plenty of hunts, some morning, some evening and some all day. I hunted the evening of 11-2 and then took the weekend off. I then hunted 11-4 and saw nothing but a new ladder stand and camera the tenant had placed. Talked to my neighbor that night who said I should hunt creek beds in the mornings and field edges in the evenings. I then decided to hunt an old ladder stand, the first I placed in the property and the first stand I killed a deer out of, I haven’t hunted out of it for 6-7 years. I didn’t really want to hunt it in the dark without being able to check it but I did anyway. On my walk in my light died but I found the stand and climbed in. It was around 40 degrees with a light rain. Around 9am the tenants dog was barking and running around. I was standing in the stand leaning against the tree in the rain. At 910 he walked by at 12-15 yards, I had about three seconds from the time seeing him until I shot. The shot was good and I saw him go down about 80 yards away. If I hadn’t been standing and ready I would. Never have got him.
