Calm crunchy morning.
Last chance to hunt till Sunday, season is running out fast. First spot I went into someone had dragged in what looked like an ice fishing skid house converted into a deer blind. Couch inside and all. Normally I would just go still hunt another area, but it's so crunchy and calm I feel like everything can hear me coming from a mile away. Should I just scout this area anyway? Found a ton of tracks coming in. I'm currently just sitting on the top of a ridge watching.

My other option is to go relocate a camera that needs moved and then go home early and take a nap. I have to work this evening.

Watched from the ridge for a bit. It's just too crunchy to move in, but the sign looks good. Anyone have any tips for dealing with the crunch other than go slow?

This is a tough one! I suppose you could go in with the mindset of scouting the property with the outside chance that you could still arrow something. It will be a learning experience at the very least and maybe you will come away with something you could share with the rest of us!
Have you considered hunting the over looked parking lot buck bedding spots? This would be a gamble if you don't already have confirmed beds scouted but this could be a way to access a spot without spooking deer with your entrance.

Re: Calm crunchy morning.
Im actually hunting with a muzzleloader and I still feel like I can't sneak in on anything. I have been out pretty much all day every day since Sunday and have seen one buck and zero does. The buck saw me before I saw him and I couldn't get a shot off. Scouted/ hunted eight different pieces in that time. Generally I am pretty positive about things but this is starting to get to me. We have twelve days left in the season and my freezer is empty. I did set a camera on a pinch between food sources that still has an active scrape. May get some new intel there.

Forgot to count one of my mid day scouts, it was actually nine different pieces. The first doe I see is going down, just gotta find one!
