First post! I’ve been successful at seeing and killing a lot of deer off of high pressure public land, mainly because I hunt way back in the swamp, during bad weather or in places other guys won’t go. But I haven’t been super successful at seeing/shooting big bucks. Decided to make the switch to Beast style hunting last week (I’ve been reading up on it for years now but have never had the drive). All of the 4 1/2+ year old bucks I have killed or seen, now make sense as to why it went down the way it did. Because I got lucky and was right on top of their bedding. I hunt mobile 90% of the time, even on my private lease, and made the switch to a saddle this year instead of a hang on or my climber.
My question is, I have two confirmed big buck beds so far on my lease, that I’ve found while scouting and tracking a buck I shot this year. Both of them are in pine woods that the owner has planted for logging. Sneaking in on the pine needles is awesome, but the trees are loud as to climb with climbing sticks, a climber, anything lol. Would it spook the buck permanently if I went in there during a good rain right now, hung a lock on in the tree with a ladder stick or screw in steps and didn’t go back until it was the right time to hunt that buck next year?
This lease holds multiple big bucks every year, but unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) the other guys litter it with cameras and corn piles and are constantly out there checking them, hunting the same ladder stands and pop up blinds. It’s a nice piece of land, but it might as well be high pressure public land like the rest of the stuff I hunt.

Yes probably a good idea given the pines, only down side is you sometimes need to adjust your set for the wind and you can't do that with a pre-hung. However you could try hunting from the ground if the wind isn't working for your pre-set. Otherwise sometimes you can wait for a windy day to hunt areas where noise is an issue.

We have a farm that is laid out where the bedding is to one side of the farm, east to west, and basically centered from north to south. We hung several stands there years ago from north to south along the opposite side from the bedding. That allows us to hunt a stand that is right with the wind on almost any particular day. We can access those stands without messing with the bedding. We have killed several good bucks there out of permanent stands. Works like a charm.
One thing we do tho is never ever go into the bedding area. We stay out and away from it. The only time we go in there is February or March. And we don't do that every year. We do run cameras but not in or around the bedding and don't check them often. The closest stand is about 75 yards away from bedding and the farthest is about 125 yards. We have 5 stands around the bedding.
