Re: Down to the wire.....BUCK DOWN!!!
Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate it. It’s still kinda hard to believe I pulled that spot and stalk off but The terrain and a big maple tree deserve the assist. It was a looooong 5 hrs 14 mins but it was a blast sitting there watching him and seeing how a mature buck spends his day in his bed. I watched him fall asleep about 10-12 times, one time for a really long time, much longer than I woulda ever guessed any deer to sleep and that was 16 minutes. Most times were just 20-30 seconds up to about 3 minutes
The really cool part about this buck is that he just might be the son of a heavy, big framed 8 I killed on the same farm in 2016. Not 100% sure tho as there are noticeable differences but there’s also lots of similarities as well. That’s why I’m really wanting to do a shoulder mount but at the same time I’ve pretty much ran out of room for shoulder mount in my house. It’s a great tough decision to have.

Unreal!
I bet that was pretty intense. Heck, I got pretty fired up just reading it.
