My hunt last week (around 20 degrese F) I wore the fanatic, a light base layer, a heavy carhart layer and a sitka 90% jacket. There were light winds that day and was plenty comfy for the three hours I sat. When temps are in the single digits to below zero I add another insulation layer.

I really like the angled zipper, pockets and build in hand muff. The jacket is also very quiet.

Perfect! Thanks for the feedback. I fully expect having to later but as long as I can cut down on current layers I’m more than happy. Looks like great stuff and I love that it’s made for bow hunters. There’s way too much loud stuff out there

Their stuff is nice, but the price delta between their stuff, and say Cabelas brand, just isn't justified IMHO. If you can grab it on markdowns and/or sales though... Maybe it's actually reasonable at that point. I don't care for their camo pattern options myself as well, but that's largely personal preference.

But 80 dollars for a beanie hat - as one example... That's outrageous. 440.00 for a pair of bibs, you gotta be out of your freaking mind...

It's completely ridiculous that people pay the money they do on Sitka. I understand the quality end of it, but still.... If everyone would just say no way, they'd be forced to lower their prices and more folks could actually afford it.

It’s all i wear. Quality is outstanding. Works in 90-100 degree temps here in sc. Then I can turn around and wear the same stuff out west chasing Mule deer and elk down to freezing temps. It’s gear that will literally last forever. Buy once cry once. Guys will spend thousands on bows, thousands on good glass, thousands in stand and sticks and gear but cheap out on clothing. Makes no sense to me. If it keeps me in the woods longer and it’s quality I will buy it every time.

If you want to go a level above the Sitka check out Grey Wolf Woolens.

They use a windbreaker and insulation that is the best on the market and totally silent. They're "wolfskin" material on the outside is also dead quiet and durable and it doesn't have nap like fleece. It will still get burrs but not real bad. It is pricey but I think will be a little less then Sitka (my bibs and jacket ran $850) but it's much better quality, handmade and custom fit just for you.

And by far the warmest stuff I've used to date.

Especially since its just windproof fleece. You can buy one from LL Bean for $30.
