A cheap idea for a camera arm

Unread postby PredatorTC » Thu Mar 11, 2010 12:26 pm

I figured i would show this so i could save some people some money... i don't mean to take any business from Dan...

I use a three piece easy hanger with a sturdy window clamp on the end. No junky $20 window clamps. I have gone through three of them. :? But, it looks skinny and weak but my camera is light and it works great... I shot a buck and a doe this pass season this way, and the footage turned out awesome!!
When you first buy the easy hanger it will pry squeak when you screw it into the tree... So i just heated the treads up with the torch and screwed it into the tree. It took there squeaky loud paint right off and now it works great... It can fold up and be very compact. One bungee strap and you wont even know its on your tree stand on your back.

Great,

This will work for my upcoming turkey hunt....

p.s. Go to (some)camera store and they have bins full of used or discounted items. There are tri-pod camera adaptors and clamps, etc...Put all this together and you have your mounting equip.

This is a great idea.

I made one very similar to this only cheaper, I took the swivel camera attachment off of a mini tripod
and epoxy'd it onto a gorrilla camera arm, whole thing cost $20.

You need to go to a store like The Camera Shop or one that deals with just still and video cameras, they will have all kinds of parts for making homemade arms.
