Musky bait

Unread postby magicman54494 » Thu Mar 11, 2010 9:51 am

My folks were just coming in from fishing when I arrived at the cottage in northern Wis. I walked down to the dock to see if they had any luck. They told me to check the live box in the water next to the dock. I looked in and saw something floating in the box. I asked what was in there and they told me it was a musky (put there by them because they knew that I was good at cleaning them and getting the Y bones out  ). I told them something was floating and it looked like it was half rotten. I took a closer look and told them it was the remains of a young duck. The musky had ate the duck and then spit it back out once it was put in the live box. Mom told me that when she caught it it had a big lump in it's belly.

That's a pretty neat story - cool pic to boot.

There is a bar/restaurant up north in Woodruff called S.A.Loons. On the wall they have a huge mounted musky with a story on the plaque about the musky being found floating dead in a local lake with a full grown duck caught in it's throat.
Great pic Magicman. They sure do eat good this time of the year with all of the duckling's around.
There is even a musky bait that looks just like a baby duckling.
