Turkey Tail Mount Ideas

Spring turkey season will be here soon. Here are some personal turkey tail mounts I did for bow and gun kills. The top picture is a bow kill therefore the top of the beard was wrapped in leather and the bottom picture is a gun kill with the beard attached to the shotgun shell with hot melt glue. I painted the beads to mimic the color of a gobbler's head.

Thanks huntinnurse. There's a lot of small steps/starting and stopping but total time for me is about 3-4 hours including the beard and spurs. It could probably be done a little faster but I'm a perfectionist. There is also no turkey skin left on those mounts. Too many people that do it themselves and even some taxidermists don't properly remove all the fat which is a problem. I do them without the skin so bugs will never be an issue.
