Wolves in SE Wisconsin???
I was headed to Germantown on wednesday and I thought There were a 2 deer standing in a field. When I got closer I could tell they were dogs. These dogs didn't look domestic, they were huge, grey, and fluffy. I know what a yote looks like and im positve they weren't. They were on the west side ove HWY41 where 41 and 45 meet, just south of Cabelas. Has any one else seen or heard of anything from the area?

Re: Wolves in SE Wisconsin???
There was one hit by a car in Jefforson county, and I know of another that was shot near my house on a coyote hunt. There was also a lady in town with pictures of one in her back yard.
I know wolves tagged in Northern Wisconsin have turned up as far as Indiana and Illinois.

I should have stopped and taken a picture. Ive heard about the one hit by a car. Its kind of scary that they are moving down this way, maybe the DNR might do somthing about them after a human is attacked.

I dont believe your DNR can do much, at this time. Those wolves are federally protected.
They can join up with Minnesota though in sueing the USFWS to gain back state management of this species. I will be urging our new state legislature to do the same. There was something written last year in an outdoor magazine on the 3 states joining together for this suit.

Are they protected in Michigan? I have heard of Michigan hunters taking matters into their own hands
