11th Hour WI Buck
After many hours on stand and on the road; I finally dropped the string on my WI buck. Sun nite was to be my last trip to WI until after F/A season and I watched him tip at 4:39 pm.
I witnessed some good chasing over the previous weekend with several passed opportunities. This weekend I only seemed to get the one year olds chasing does. I thought for sure the mature bucks would soon join in but I guess it just wasn't to be. This guy was about a minute behind one of the few mature does I saw all weekend. When he got to 30 yds I decided that I needed to kill a buck more than I needed to contribute to QDM I guess and let fly. I had set a goal for myself this year to have surgically clean Kills because I have been getting a little sloppy lately. This one; as well as my doe kill; were nearly perfect and I was fortunate enough to see them both fall. What a kick!
All in all I had a very fun WI season and am now looking forward to filling my MN tag. I will definitely work on my QDM the rest of the way.
