This is very true, I've seen plenty of 5 year old deer that can score anywhere from 110 to 170. Winter and spring weather along with rain fall can often have a big impact on what the deer can grow from year to year. The older bucks also seem to go down hill a little faster once past their prime. I know we've shot a few that dress out over 220 but don't have much of a rack.
