Possible Hog Hunting Destinations?

Unread postby solocam88 » Fri Sep 10, 2010 3:17 pm

Me and some friends are thinking about planning a hog hunting trip down south in Dec or Jan. Probably texas but I'm open to anywhere else. Does anyone know of a good outfitter/place to go that is reasonably priced where we can get a lot of pigs?

If you want to know more about texas boar hunting, go to this site:

http://www.texasboars.com/phpBB2/index.php

Register there, and find the member tim hicks or timhicks. PM him and say Spysar sent you there to find out about the opportunities down there. I know Tim traps and hunts hogs almost year round. I bet he'd lead you in the right direction.
A buck will see you three times, and hear you twice, but he's only gonna smell you once.

Solocam another great site (and Tim is a member there as well, and you can mention my name as well, tho they know me there as ladybowhuntr) is http://www.TexasBowhunters.com. A wealth of info there and a really great classified section. Michael, the owner is one of the most down to earth people there is.
A couple bowhunting only ranches that I would highly recommend, great prices and great people are:
#1: Diamond C. Skylar will bend over backward for everyone coming out to hunt. He has the Cabela's customer service policy: "Do whatever it takes to make the customer happy. " He has great deals and will do nearly the impossible at times. His reputation is stellar. You will not be dissapointed. I have actually been thinking of trying to arrange a Beast hunt there for Spring of '12. He books up in advance for spring fairly quickly as well as fall. Alot of repeat business, especially from out of state. He only takes 6 hunters at a time, but guests are welcome, especially with cameras, food and beer. http://www.texasbowhunt.com/
#2: Keith Johns Outdoors. Again another highly reputable, fair priced hunt. Again Keith goes out of his way to keep customers satisfied. Alot of repeat business here too. http://www.keithjohnsoutdoors.com/KJOpackages.html
3#: Bugscuffle Ranch. As mentioned above, highly reputable, fair priced with alot of repeat customers. http://www.bugscuffle.com/
I have booked 2 times with Diamond C and unfortunately on both occasions, had to cancel due to work. I will get there tho!!!!! I think he may already be booked thru March '11.

Hope this helps. Then there is also me, I can find us some good places that are public and nearly free for the hunting!!!! (need a permit and a 5 day NR license for $45.) Most if not all of the public land is bow only for hogs and deer. Shotgun for waterfowl/migratory birds during their season.
Hogs are 24/7/365. No season. Just a license needed. Night hunting with lights is allowed. As well as dogs. If you want to do some hog doggin' I know just who to hook you up with, however, he may be in Afghanistan in the spring (I know he is gonna miss deer season), hopefully back by spring.
Should you want to also bowfish, I can set you up there as well. And you can get some redfishin' in as well!!!!
If you want more recommendations I can give more. These are the top 3 I would choose.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.John 3:16 KJV
