Funny stories guys!

SingingBridge-you are about the last guy I figured would be allergic. I always pictured you killing bucks in the swamp and carrying them out on your back, lol.

No offense to you guys, Im allergic to water!!!!! At least thats what the doctors said. Aquagenic pruritus.... In my opinion I have food allergies....

Back to the point of the thread--

My biggest issues:
1. Changing wind directions
2. Skeeters
3. Unplanned bathroom break
4. Squirrels, squirrels everywhere....

Poison ivy is always on my radar ... Hate that stuff. No matter where I'm at , I can always expect a loose dog chasing a rabbit , deer or just taking a stroll to show up and ruin a hunt every year . I just shake my head and move on ...They are lucky I love dogs . ;)

Singing Bridge wrote:What's your biggest headache when it comes to deer hunting? For me, it's absolutely the fact that I am severely allergic to whitetails... yep, in the worst possible way. As a kid, my dad gutted my first couple of bucks while teaching me the technique. At about age 14 I gutted my first buck solo, and wiped my right brow with the back of my hand while in the middle of it. My right eye swelled shut, I started wheezing...

Same thing happens to me, I am allergic to the hair AND the blood. I wear 3 pairs of gutting gloves and take 2 Benadryll before gutting. I can cut them up if they hang in cold weather or a cooler for a few days. I still have to watch not to get my hands near my eyes, but it's much better.

Although this is annoying it's not my biggest issue. My biggest is trespassers and fenceline sitters. I bust my but to not burn out our small property. Only to have some slob sit the line with his scent blowing into the bedding area. These fools literally lean against the fence. Two years ago during gun season I caught one of them scoping me, he didn't want to talk and covered the neighbors 80 acre field in record time. Probably good as I was a little worked up.

I'm voting for irritable bowel. Just hard to time things as I get older.

Should I hunt, or should I go now?
Should I hunt, or should I go?
If I go hunt, there will be trouble!
And if I stay, it could be double!
So come on bowels, let me know?
Should I stay or should I go? ;)
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

 New favorite song.

The scent lock guys should invent something that solves this problem. If they did i might actually buy from them!

Lots of challenges no doubt- the allergy thing is one more obstacle to overcome.

I don't like waking up so early to hunt mornings and I wish I could smoke while hunting although I know I shouldn't be smoking period

I have a list here it doesn't go in any particular order at all...but these things are pretty annoying for me...

-TICKS

-BATTERIES DYING FOR FLASHLIGHTS/NOT HAVING BACK UP BATTERIES/WALKING THROUGH LOTS OF SPIDER WEBS ON THE WAY BACK

-WALKING THROUGH MARSH GRASS WITH HIDDEN LOGS/TRIPPING/SMASHING BACK OF HEAD WITH LONEWOLF

-SQUIRREL HUNTERS IN NOVEMBER

-SINKING MUCK HOLES

-RANDOM TEXTS "IS THAT YOUR TRUCK OFF SO AND SO RD?"

-TRASH/GARBAGE IN PUBLIC PARKING LOTS

-KNOWING YOU HAVE TO LEAVE YOUR TREE AT A CERTAIN TIME BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO WORK :snooty:

Top of my list is like a lot of them.

Ticks
Skeeters
Muck holes
And the inevitable whipe out lone wolf clunk to the head trying to save your bow during a fall.
Last but not least trying to find the access in the dark on canoe hunts.

1a. Poison ivy, and sumac
2. Soakers..especially when it's colder outside.
3. Shins getting smashed from hidden branches.
4. Dropping arrows or release from stand.

Old barbwire fences in the woods in the dark. An of course all of the above.
I live to release an arrow and watch woods grow into chaos and then grow quite as a mouse in just seconds.
