Re: Deer Hunter Podcast Rompola Buck
This happens to be both the funniest and saddest thing I’ve ever read. Lord this country needs a hero!
What the heck does selling magazine articles or having a chapter in a book do for one’s character? I can give u a list of con artists with such accolades. What about the guilly suit guru Marc Anthony? Many articles and book chapters. Same denial! Why isn’t nobody from the peanut gallery riding his coat tail?
Let’s take the smell test into consideration here. Incase anyone was not aware there is not a group of whitetail enthusiasts combing America’s woodlots for the best of the best. So u might ask yourself then how did one learn of this “so called” record buck? Fact is Mitchy was making phone calls and playing auctioneer to anyone who would listen. Many good folks lost there job from this clown. Hard cry from the now portrayed humble guy who just wants to hunt isn’t it….Actually that didn’t start until it was time to prove it. Which the price for him to prove it was the same price he negotiated in other endeavors. Yet now he doesn’t care bout the money. I believe OJ Simpson is more innocent than this Jack wagon.
Deer and deer hunting magazine summed it up best. While these might not be the exact words they should be pretty close. “The fact that all parties involved refuse to comment on this decades later even while some are dying off speaks for itself.”
Oh and for you Mitchy is a humble fellow types….
Page 306 2nd paragraph of book mentioned. “I scare myself because of I’ve acquired such a level of knowledge it’s getting to the point where I think it’s unfair. Maybe nobody should know this much about whitetails.”
Humble indeed
What a clown! Hey can i call the lotto office and say I got the winning ticket give me my millions. It’s not my job to prove I won it’s yours to prove I didn’t without the ticket. I have no doubt he probably burned the head. For fear of someone stealing it to prove he is a pathological liar!

Re: Deer Hunter Podcast Rompola Buck
Latest podcast on the subject changed my mind, I never looked at many other bucks Rompola shot but now after looking over many I think most are faked. My belief is he shot the state record as a kid in Missouri, could never reach that same level of success and to keep relevant in his own mind resorted to this.

Pure… thanks for the recap. I saw it pop up in my podcast subscriptions but haven’t listened to it yet. The guy they interviewed is a legit good hunter too that I’ve heard on other podcasts.

Those pics look photoshopped af. And the fact they say Rompola whitetails water marked across them to make it seem as tho they came from his website is also fishy.
This also don’t have anything to do with the deer in question which was handled by a game warden (the whole dead deer) and the rack and skull plate was inspected and scored by official scorers.
My thoughts is Mitch wanted nothing to do with the fame, he already had a bad rapport with B&C and didn’t want to deal with them, probably wasn’t interested AT ALL with the speaking at outdoor shows etc… and looked at the deal with Hanson reps as free money to shut up and keep hunting. Seems like a smart dude.
But I don’t really care.

Re: Deer Hunter Podcast Rompola Buck
I think the stat about Mitch taking like 5 of the top 8 widest bucks in Michigan or whatever the stat was, was pretty damning. I don’t care how good a hunter he is, no one is good enough to pick racks like that. And don’t tell me he is into some wild population genetics that could produce that.

This one is 27” and the beams come straight up out of the base for the first inch or two…Rompolas was 38” wide and the beams come straight out of the side of his head.
