All he was presenting was a straight on shot and even though he was around the same size maybe a little bigger than a buck I shot during bow season he just wasn’t what I’m looking for especially when I’m almost 2 miles back in the cat tails. That’s it for me on gun season, the wife isn’t feeling well so I will be spending the day tomorrow taking care of her. I’ll be out for muzzleloader Thursday or Friday and maybe I’ll take a crack at that distant island one more time. If it is a beast member that has their spartan cell cam on the island, I did not have anything to leave a note so I just put a quarter on top of it.

I’m trying to shoot a doe for my deerless uncle. It’s a nice day out... if the wind isn’t pounding on you.

That’s awesome, I knew it was probably a beast member because only a beast would go out there. Not only was it a beast, it was the BBSK himself!

Scouted with the bow in hand. Some sign, nothing amazing. Just gotta locate some after the orange army's invasion.

Slow today. Saw 3, probably does, that all stayed in the thick stuff.

Hitting a swamp tomorrow.
Good luck to all the grinders!

9.07 miles logged today. Long story short, most of the buck sign is in one small area. Funny part is, the cockleburrs are so bad I think they’re part of the reason the bucks are back here. They’re keeping most of the hunters out

Found an active scrape tree and an adjacent dogwood thicket that was ripped up.

When I left that area buck sign dropped off in a hurry. It was hard to come by through out much of the scout. Will need to go back to re-hash everything and pick out some kill sets. Today was a speed scout.
