Tree Stand Seat Pad

Unread postby kevinbrd » Wed Dec 09, 2020 1:12 am

Seen alot of videos where guys are packing in a stand, and the seat pad is missing. I was thinking surely there is no way these guys aren't using a seat pad and just sitting on the metal, but I guess I wouldn't be too surprised.
Curious as to what everyone's favorite aftermarket seat pads are for those of you that use something other than what came with the stand could be bought or DIY.

Hunt Comfort gel seat pads are awesome and they make ones made to fit Lone Wolf stands. I have one on my hand climber and I can sit for hours without discomfort. I have also had it for about 5 seasons and not a single rip or hole. The material its made of is very durable. I need one for my Assault hang-on.

Do they make ones for the 1.0 or .5?

I have a Hunt Comfort Outpost on my Alpha and the thing is comfy but weighs like 3 lbs alone.

It depends on how long you will sit.

I like those neoprene seats - thicker the better. The one I use the most is about 1.5 inch and will use it in any stand or hunting chair.

I dont see how i couldnt just make a custom one since my wife and mother in law are master upholsterers
Question would be what kind of material for the cushion.
Too soft too hard but just right that molds to the rear snd top 1/2 of legs

I’m with Dan. If u make one make it slightly under size and be able to secure it to the seat or too much noise

I prefer the one that came with my loan wolf. I bought a Hunt Comfort and its more of a pain in the rear to carry in and out, also it makes the distance from the platform to the seat too high so its not as comfortable. I don't know know if I could sit still on the bare metal never tried. Maybe if it was flat without the holes in it.

I mostly hunt saddles now as they are by far the most comfortable seat available but occasionally still hunt from my hang on or climber and both have Hunt Comfort pads. My back is messed up so the thicker pad is a much needed addition.

People mention the Hunt Comfort seats but they stopped making the one that fit Lone Wolf and XOP stands. I bought a $5 foam pad and cut it to fit inside the cushion that came with my XOP. The padding inside of it was a joke.

Incorrect... The Hunt Comfort hiker fits the Lone Wolf hand climber and the outpost will fit on both lone wolf assault and Alpha. Both pads still available on the Hunt Comfort website.

Hunt comfort outpost for me. Bare metal is fine for short sits. Actually had to take my seat off when I shot my buck because it got soaked. Biggest key is getting the seat leveled properly. Makes a huge impact on comfort for me. Or if it’s all day sit I utilize my saddle more. A lot of sitting and leaning.
