Molle systems
how many guys use a molle sytem or similar to haul their stand? It seems like a lot of buckles and straps to get in the way, and a lot hanging from the base of the stand in the tree.
Do you find it to be worth the hassle? Thanks

Re: Molle systems
I've used it for 7 or 8 seasons now and will always use it or something similar. No hassle and no getting busted from the straps. The only extra strap is the waste belt and you can buckle that so it doesn't hang as low.

Re: Molle systems
As a skinny guy, its my most essential piece of gear! I walked a mile, scouted, then walked a mile back this morning. No way im doing that w standard or even Summit straps.

Re: Molle systems
The molle waist belt is the key to the entire system. Using that to transfer the weight to your hips greatly reduces weight at the shoulders and you can easily get away with basic shoulder straps. All they really do is balance the load with very little pressure.

Re: Molle systems
I'll put it simple. Shattered my back last year and had to have 5 vertebrae fused and the only way I am able to use a stand to hunt is with molle straps of I want to be able to carry in a lightweight stand even for a short distance. They are 100 percent worth buying. Don't worry about how busy they look. If your worried about the straps hanging down you could use a bungee cord or one of the gear ties to keep them from flapping around

2nd this, very much worth it. Every now and then I will hike some distance without it just to remind myself how nice it is on your shoulders and overall hike in general. I just have the waste belt and my regular LW straps and it works just fine.

Re: Molle systems
I don’t have the actual molle belt, but to see if it helped, I took an old fanny pack and zip tied it to the bottom of my stand to simulate it. I just use my normal shoulder straps and then snap the fanny pack belt around my waist. Makes a big difference. I’ll probably end up getting an actual padded molle belt but this definitely helped.

This says it all. Getting the weight off your shoulders is key for long hauls.
I use a molle from condor. Works better than the XOP tree transport system I used previously because you can adjust the straps.

Re: Molle systems
Every stand I have ever owned are will ever own has and will have the fully molle II setup on it.
On my summit climbing stands I hard mount the shoulders and just strap the waist belt to the stand vie the lashing straps. Will post you a pic of it tommorw.

Re: Molle systems
If you regularly walk more than 400 yards, it is not even optional in my mind. Been doing it for about 12 years and never once have I felt busted by it. Molle is a good entry level mod but I stole the suspension off a Kelty pack and the additional padding is like Porsch vs. a Taurus.

Re: Molle systems
All my stands I use regularly/carry have the molle II straps, no belt but I might have to try one for those real long walks

Re: Molle systems
The belt is definitely more important than the straps. I upgrade my straps but not to the real big ones.
The difference is huge.
I agree...I hate the footprint they leave...though I've never felt like a deer saw them. I don't like the buckles on the platform. I need to figure something out there. I've stepped on them and made loud noise. Gotta be a way to fish the straps around and keep the buckles under the platform.

This is the truth. I've hauled mine without the waist belt clipped and the difference is huge.

Been said already, but the waist strap is the key
