Sometimes you just can’t win. I don’t think I could have done this on purpose if I tried 100 times. I setup in some standing water this morning so I screwed in a small bow hanger at the base of the tree to hang my bow and cloth on while I setup. Usually works pretty good to keep my cloth dry and just lift it off the hanger and pull everything up once I’m setup. Some kinda way I’m not sure exactly but my pull up rope derailed my bow... My backup bow is at my house 4 hrs away. I brought it every other trip this year, but this one I forgot it. Just gonna head home for a few days spend time with my family and come back up and finish out the week.

Not really too upset, something always happens I just roll with the punches nowadays.

Oh man, talk about a tough break! Its a good thing you noticed it when you did!

Opening weekend update.

Saw 20 some deee yesterday. Had 14 does and fawns in front of me at closing. 7 bucks. 2 shooters chasing does but couldn’t get a shot off. One very large 8 point came by me at 10 yards before legal shooting time.

8 does and fawns this morning and 1 small buck. Had one grunting in front of me in the dark. Hoping the does have bucks in tow this afternoon

Good luck everyone!

Spent the day yesterday canoeing in and hunting with my Dad. It was his first time hunting WI and I wore him out. I was able to shoot a doe. That was pretty special as we don’t get to hunt together often.

He left this afternoon and I headed back in to a hard to hunt spot. Bumped a heavy hooved deer just before stopping to set up!

Filled my gun buck tag in a snowstorm this morning. Pretty cool hunt. Snow was coming down pretty heavy and he came in 50 yards while I was sitting on a stump.

This morning I had good movement with a few bucks. Nothing made it to the freezer .

Nice work Seaz and Crazi!

I shot muzzleloader tonight. She’s ready to rock! Also pulled a camera card and hung another with my girls this morning. Lots of night movement coming off the neighbors. I didn’t get my target buck on cam but neighbor claims he is still alive

This weekend I want to hit up a brand property. Jumped a decent buck out of some bedding I had pinned late December last year. Will work good for a morning sit. I also promised my girls I’d take them so will do that on an evening hunt. What could go wrong with a 3 & 5 year old in the blind?!

My predator platform finally got some use. Put my old man up in a saddle. Walked several miles today doing a one man deer drive. Pushed a few doe past my Dad but he never shot :/
